Today we shred the pow pow at Vail! Corinne tried her first little jump .... be sure to watch the video. Her second time she landed it ... but the video didn't work. Matt hits the same jump on the other video. Corinne made it down her first double black diamond on Saturday... and we ended the day soaking in a hot tub. Ah..that felt good!

We're about half way through our time out here in Colorado. So far the mountain has had 205 inches of snow... much more than normal for this time of year. Corinne hit her 15th day of skiing and Matt has over 30 days so far. Yesterday we went skiing at Vail which was Corinne's first time skiing there. It was a blast! We went to the back bowls and it was so wide open and beautiful. Matt used his new skis for the first time and has no fear! He just flies on them and loves to do jumps! He took quite a few hard falls...and he's feeling the pain today! Corinne took her hardest fall yesterday too. Luckily her helmet arrived last night so now she will feel more comfortable going faster and through trees!

We had a beautiful white Christmas!! It snowed about 8 inches overnight and during Christmas day. In the morning, we joined the Keiser's in their family tradition of reading the story of Jesus birth... the reason for the season! Then, We opened presents with their family... which was a blast! The excitement in those kids was so much fun! Krista made a delicious brunch... then we headed off to the ski slopes with Andrew and the boys, Drew & Josh. They are great at skiing and were tearing me up! In the evening we went over to Clint & Becca's house to help prepare dinner for about 15 friends that were away from "home" for Christmas. We had a great time and topped the evening off with the classic, Home Alone.
Here are some pictures we captured of the day!

This morning marked Matt's 11th day on the slopes and Corinne's 6th day. Matt has been learning how to telemark ski. He has improved a lot and also taken a few hard tumbles! Corinne has been improving her form and starting to cruise down the mountain. Keep her away from those bump trails though...it will be awhile until she gets to the bottom!!
This afternoon Matt, Clint & I went snowshoeing to find the perfect Christmas tree for Clint & Becca's house. We found quite the Charlie Brown tree! All the nice trees were Blue Spruce, the state tree which are not allowed to be cut down. We had a blast hiking & goofing off in the woods.
Here's some pictures of us on the slopes and our Christmas tree adventure!

Matt & I have been enjoying our consistent schedule. The store is still slow, but everyone keeps saying by the end of this week the crowds will start coming in! I already sold a $1600 coat! Quite the different lifestyle out here :) Today we attempted to go skiing, but it was sooo windy! So, we went for a hike behind our house instead. Here's some pictures from our hike. Also, a picture of Beaver Creek Village. It's the view looking out from where we work.

This week brought about a lot of changes! First off, it snowed a lot!! I'm still getting used to driving in the snow. No 2 hour delays or cancellations around here ;)
Second, I was offered at job at Gorsuch, where Matt works. They offered me the exact same schedule as him! I couldn't pass that up!! (http://www.gorsuch.com/) No more getting up at 5:30 to shovel the driveway open or Matt having to come pick me up at 11:30 at night! It will be so nice to carpool together and have the same days off to ski!! I will be working in retail selling clothing, jewelry, home furnshings, etc. Saturday night was my last at the Park Hyatt. I start my new adventure on Wednesday.

Yesterday I went skiing for the first time in Colorado!! We went to Breckenridge, it's about 45 minutes from here. It was a lot of fun! My face was completely frozen in that picture! Matt wasn't able to go yesterday, but he's out boarding today.

Today, I went out for a little hike through the woods. Is a very nice day and about 15 degrees above average. Farther up the trail there was a yelping squirrel. I don't know what species it was but it was annoying. So I tried to get a picture of it but it scurried up the tree. So I figured what the heck, I throw a pine cone at it.... well... I missed 3 times. Then I found a little stone to toss. So I did figuring I would miss, but at least it would churp at me. Well... I hit it right in the head. It didnt knock it out, but I kept rubbing is cute little head. I guess you would have to be there to find the humor. So here is a picture of the trail I was on.
